Options Are Adream scores in Rosecroft Open

Ft. Washington, MD --- The 5-year-old pacer Options Are Adream hasn't raced much, but when he shows up, the results are usually good. On Monday night (April 2), Ross Wolfenden put the field in his rears from the start to win the $10,000 Open Handicap in a lifetime best 1:51.

Wolfenden trains the I Can Dream gelding for owner David Banks. The winner paid $12.00, $8.40 and $15.80. It was win 13 in 30 lifetime starts.

Diamondkeeper and John Wagner sprinted from last to first at 8-1 to win the $8,500 Winners Over for Basil Sapienza. Time for the mile was 1:52.

The biggest surprise of the night came in race one, where Real Tough, who had won two straight in the $7,500-$10,000 Claiming Handicap, sprinted past pacesetter Arpeggio Hanover to win, paying a whopping $27.60 for driver Bret Brittingham. Lauren Allen owns and trains the 13-year-old who picked up career win number 50 in 214 lifetime starts.

Kerry Welty's Third Coast produced one of two wins for Roger Plante, circling the field for his first win of the season in 1:56.2.

Frank Milby made it 2-2 with the 3-year-old colt Artic Adventure for Irwin and Wendy Samelman, jogging in 1:55.1. Milby won two races on the card.

Russell Foster won three races including an impressive effort from Bunkndunk for owner Peter Paul Venturini and trainer Brian Malone. Ricky Still had a driving double, scoring with his own trainee, Happy New Year, in the finale for owner Timothy Lusk.

The Pick-5 carryover stands at $2,607 headed to Wednesday night's card. Post time is 6:40 p.m. (EDT).
